Located in Denver, Colorado, the Colorado Film School is a unique film program stemming from a working relationship between Community College of Aurora and Regis University. This school focuses exclusively on filmmaking, offering associate’s and bachelor’s degrees with emphases on Writing, Directing, Producing, Cinematography, Post-Production, and Acting for the screen. Colorado Film School also offers an advanced immersion option–a 90-credit certificate program which can be completed in 11 months.
Set up as a traditional school, expect to invest a minimum of two years for an associate’s degree, and four years for a bachelor’s. Tuition is comparatively reasonable for a four-year degree: approximately $25,000 total for Colorado residents, and about twice as much for non-residents.

November 2, 2011 4I just moved here from California and for the price and the program… apples to apples… the Colorado Film School is an excellent program. This is a two plus two program starting at the Community College of Aurora and then if the student/filmmaker wishes to continue on for their Bachelor’s Degree, they can do so on that level at the University of Colorado at Denver. Where else can you have a camera in your hand and be editing your Freshman year? I encourage anyone interested in the school to please come and get a tour and judge for themselves. I have worked on feature films, television series, produced an Emmy nominated sports piece in college, assistant directed a commercial that played during the Super Bowl and I find the school to be the best kept secret of not only Colorado, but also film schools in general. I am on staff for the school, but have also taken classes here.
